Links & Nature Reserve

St. Anne's is located on the Bull Island Nature Reserve in the heart of one of the finest protected wildlife areas in Ireland. The island is a bird sanctuary of major international significance being an important wintering site for wildfowl. Thousands of birds use the salt marsh as a resting feeding and feeding place. Perhaps the best known symbol of wildfowl on the island is the Brent Goose. The golfers of St. Anne’s are proud of the rich wildlife on the course, which adds an additional dimension to their enjoyment of the sport.

The club is a real success story of how golfing and wildlife interests live in harmony, and it is no exaggeration to say that the club sees itself as a custodian within its boundaries.
